ROCC Balm started as a little idea tucked inside a much bigger one.
While developing ROCC, a bouldering gym currently planned for a late 2027 opening, I started dreaming about products that could someday be created in-house. ROCC Balm popped into my head—and then promptly got set aside while I focused on the gym.
Until I got a flapper.
Nothing I tried seemed to be working the way I wanted it to, so out of curiosity, I started putting a tallow-based face cream from my local farmers market on it. My skin recovered remarkably well, and I was intrigued.
ROCC Balm popped back into my head.
What if?
What if I created a tallow-based balm specifically for climbers’ hands?
So I started making balm.
After plenty of testing, tweaking, melting, pouring, climbing, and trying again, ROCC Balm became what it is today: a simple formula made with just four high-quality ingredients—grass-fed and grass-finished tallow, beeswax, certified organic frankincense essential oil, and certified organic helichrysum essential oil.
But somewhere along the way, ROCC Balm became about more than climbing.
It became about celebrating the things we do with our hands—the things we PLAY hard at. Climbing. Creating. Building. Gardening. Making. Exploring. Whatever that looks like for you.
Because hands that work hard, create cool things, and chase big adventures deserve some TLC along the way.
